The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try:
To serve God and my country,
To help people at all times,
And to live by the Girl Scout Law.

Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be
Honest and Fair,
Friendly and Helpful,
Considerate and Caring,
Courageous and Strong, and
Responsible for what I say and do,
And to
respect myself and others,
respect authority,
use resources wisely,
make the world a better place, and
be a sister to every Girl Scout.

Girl Scout Fundraising Policy

As a reminder, Girl Scouts cannot fundraise for another organization. We can donate our time and talent, perform service projects, even donate items. However we do not solicit donations or monetary contributions for other organizations.

If you have questions regarding this Girl Scout policy, please contact Christy Barlow, Membership Development Manager, Girl Scouts of Central Indiana at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..

Please see the Girl Scouts Blue Book of Basic Documents 2012, page 21 for the official statement.

Adult members in their Girl Scout capacities may not solicit financial contributions for purposes other than Girl Scouting. Adults may engage in combined fundraising efforts authorized by the Girl Scout council and in which the local council is a beneficiary. Girl members may not engage in any direct solicitation for money. The National CEO in consultation with the National Board Chair may give permission to raise money in times of a major national or international emergency, with prior written notice to the National Board. Councils will be notified of this action in writing.
